Rural Investment 2017

People and Families benefit from a relatively Small investment in Rural areas.

D.E.Williams 19th June 1975 The Minister for Justice, Mr Patrick Cooney TD, officially opened the new one and a half million gallon per annum soft drink facility at Tullamore, Co Offaly. The new plant represents an investment of over a quarter million pounds by the Williams Group. It is hoped that this investment will create further employment for the area.

€60m plan to revive rural Ireland (Irish Independent)

This could be a Win Win situation with rural people have local jobs with a reduction in commuting and easing the pressure on our capital city infrastructure, in 2017 Broad Band is an important piece of infrastructure which has been neglected for too long. Our quality of life has been decimated with people forced to commute for hours every day wasting time and money and damaging our environment, country folk have to follow the jobs which all appear to be in Dublin while Dublin Folk can't afford to live close to their home where family and other support was always available to rear the children. This logical investment may be a start to correct the errors of the recent past. Rural investment was a success before and a small investment can make a big difference in a rural area when the same investment in a big city has little or no impact.

A new map of the Burren region of County Clare, by Mr. Tim Robinson, was launched at a reception held by Shannonside Tourism in Dublin. The Burren is a limestone plateau occupying an area of over one hundred square miles in North Clare. Picture shows Mr Sean Browne, right Regional Manager, Shannonside Tourism, with Mr Tim Robinson, centre and Mr. John Charleston, General Manager, Regional Tourism Investment Trust at the reception
