The Irish Photo Archive is delighted to announce that we are
featured in an exhibition at RUA RED in Tallaght. A selection of our most
popular images will take pride of place on the café walls of the arts centre
from now until Christmas Eve.
The images featured include Dublin
city centre, Nelson’s Pillar, Aer Lingus stewardesses, Dublin docklands,
and VIP visitors like Muhammad Ali, the Beatles and Laurel and Hardy.
RUA RED is a fantastic arts centre, located in Tallaght right beside the
end Luas stop on the Red line. The Square shopping centre is directly across
from it, and the Project Arts Centre is right beside it.
Within RUA RED, there are also workspaces for artists of all
mediums, a recording studio, a dance studio, and a theatre/performance venue.
There are a number of long-term tenants, but there is also digital equipment
for hire, complete with all the software packages a graphic designer or
creative spark could need. Their computers, scanners and printers are available
by the hour, per half day or per day. And the design of the building itself
allows so much natural light in that working there could only be a
pleasure.
Thanks to the seasoned eye of Hugh McCarthy at RUA RED, who has installed a multitude of exhibitions and installations at the centre, the exhibition is looking great. If you are in the area, please do pop in out of the cold and soak in the memories over a nice cup of tea and a slice of cake.
